Day out to Lymington Pier

On Friday 21/05/2010 I was invited out to do a bit of Train Spotting.  We ended up going from Waterloo to Brokenhurst (mostly without 3G or phone service) and then changing  onto a slam door train (which we had come to see) and completed our journey to Lymington Pier.

From there we walked via the Wagon and Horses for a quick pint and to see if 3G worked now to Lymington itself and decided to have another pint at the Kings Head Inn.  From there we walked to Lyminton Town Station to look for a bus Garage I had spotted on the way there.  We found the Bus Garage and after a quick look around and some photos we got a train back to the Pier and then from there took this train back to Brockenhurst.

We decided to take a Cross Country train back to Southampton Airport to try it out (Considering the amount of time you would spend sitting on a long journey was not impressed.  Hopefully First Class is better), where we ended up getting a train back to Waterloo.

From there we decided to go the long way back to Catford, so we took the Jubilee line underground to Canada Water and changed on to the London Overground to New Cross.  Here we changed on to a Southeastern service to Hayes via Catford Bridge and then managed to get to the Catford Ram for a few more pints.

All in All in was a very good day out.

Pictures from this day out are here.
